Il Professore Verze, recentemente nominato membro della prestigiosa ‘Academy Europea dei Professori di Urologia’(AAEU), ha deciso così di prendere in carico la paziente e dopo una approfondita anamnesi, ha scoperto che la donna era affetta da una sindrome genetica rara, la Sclerosi Tuberosa, che causa diverse manifestazioni a livello neurologico e cutaneo ed anche la predisposizione all’insorgenza di tumori.
«Era davvero anomalo – dichiara infatti il Prof. Verze – che una ragazza così giovane avesse tre tumori contemporaneamente e la sua condizione era quindi alquanto sospetta. Dopo studi accurati, aggiunge, siamo giunti finalmente e prima di altri, alla diagnosi di sclerosi tuberosa e quando la biopsia ha evinto la positività di cellule neoplastiche al rene, abbiamo deciso di sottoporre la paziente ad una operazione in Robotica, durante la quale sono stato affiancato dai dottori Gianmarco Sivestre e Ciro Barba, con il contributo dei medici anestesisti dottori Renato Gammaldi, Responsabile del Reparto di Rianimazione del Ruggi, insieme alla dottoressa Antonella Langone e alla validissima equipe infermieristica».
L’intervento in Robotica, eseguito con successo, ha consentito l’enucleazione dei due tumori più grandi mentre il più piccolo, come da protocollo è rimasto in sede per un periodo di sorveglianza. Inoltre, l’esperienza nella gestione di interventi in Robotica, acquisita dalla nostra equipe, ha permesso la pratica di una tecnica sicura e convalidata, in grado di non compromettere la funzionalità del rene, poiché ha evitato e scongiurato il clampaggio dell’arteria renale.
